£699,950
About this car
The Countach LP5000 S is the car that took Marcello Gandini's wedge from poster-wall provocation to something closer to a usable supercar. It is powered by the enlarged 4,754 cc Bizzarrini-derived V12, fed by six Weber sidedraft carburettors and paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. This example is one of just 23 UK-supplied right-hand-drive cars, which makes it a rarity even within a model that was only ever built in small numbers.
It is finished in Rosso Siviglia over Crema leather, with gold OZ 'Teledial' alloy wheels and a bespoke Quicksilver exhaust system. Equipment is period-correct: air conditioning, electric windows, an Alpine head unit, a 12V interior socket and the original tool kit. The car shows 18,000 miles and comes with a good history file.
The car is offered subject to a thorough restoration, so a buyer has the chance to shape the finished result. With the early LP400 now far out of reach for most buyers, a matching RHD LP5000 S is one of the more accessible ways into the original Countach story.
