The Countach LP400 S was the first major step in the model's evolution, introduced in 1978 with wider wheels and arches and, on later cars, the rear wing seen here. Only 237 were built, which makes it a far scarcer proposition than the later 5000 S and Quattrovalvole cars.
This right-hand-drive example was delivered new in Italy to a UK customer and first registered in Bologna on 12 November 1981, initially on a temporary Italian registration. It has covered 1,670 miles, has had two owners, and has been with its current keeper since 1999. It is finished in Bianco with a Rosso hide interior.
The documentation file includes the original service and warranty booklet, driver's handbook, radio and stereo instructions, the V5C and a selection of period Countach brochures and artwork.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Engine layout and configuration from Lamborghini factory specifications; performance and weight left null because published LP400 S period figures could not be confirmed with confidence.).
