This 1964 Series 1 E-type 3.8 was found in a South-East England garage, where it had been stored since 1979. The building's protective structure left it largely preserved, though E-Type UK still needed extensive metalwork once the car was stripped at its Kent workshop. Full inner and outer floor sections, the bonnet, doors and rear arches were all replaced as part of a nut-and-bolt restoration completed in 2019.
The specification suits fast road use. It has a 'Fast Road' 3.8-litre straight-six with a five-speed gearbox, a stainless exhaust with six-branch manifold, an aluminium radiator and header tank with a modern cooling fan, and electronic ignition. A high-torque starter, lightweight alternator and performance air filter complete the mechanical changes.
The colour scheme is Opalescent Silver Blue with Oxblood Red. Cosmetic changes include wrap-around front bumpers, deleted overriders and motif bar, and a vinyl bonnet mouth surround. Inside are a Bluetooth radio and a surround-sound audio system. The dealer says the car has covered less than 2,000 miles since the restoration.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Jaguar factory specification (265 bhp gross at 5,500 rpm, 3,781 cc XK straight-six); the well-known 150 mph and 0-60 times come from period magazine tests, not the factory, so they are left null.).
