The TR5 was built for only 13 months, from 1967 to 1968, and just 2,947 were made. It is the one TR with Lucas mechanical fuel injection on its 2.5-litre straight-six, which gives 150 bhp. This right-hand-drive, UK-supplied car is a matching-numbers example, with the chassis and engine both numbered CP2192. It was first registered in May 1968 and has a four-speed manual gearbox.
It was originally white. A body-off chassis restoration by TR Sports Cars of Mitcham in 1986–88 changed the colour to Signal Red, and the invoices for that work total just over £10,500. The same owner kept the car for almost 37 years. The second owner, a French collector, bought it in 2005 at 62,715 miles. He added only about 2,100 miles in 20 years. It now shows 64,836 miles on the page, although the headline quotes 64,866. It keeps its UK registration, HST 201F. Fitted extras include a Surrey Top with hard and soft panels, chrome wire wheels, a Mota-Lita steering wheel and a walnut dashboard. A Bosch fuel pump and a Kenlowe electric fan have been added.
In 2025 the car was repainted and recommissioned with Enginuity, at a cost of £12,692. The work included a service, a brake overhaul with new calipers and hoses, new suspension bushes, front dampers, a water pump and a clutch master cylinder. It passed an MOT on 22 July 2025 with no advisories. The history file includes the V5, a Heritage Certificate, invoices and photographs. The listing shows a deposit has been taken.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Standard-Triumph's published figure of 150 bhp (gross) for the fuel-injected 2498cc straight-six. Weight, top speed and 0-60 left null because the figures I know come from period road tests, not the factory.).
