The Mk5 was the last of the Spitfire line, the Michelotti-styled two-seater that Triumph built from 1963 until 1980. With the 1500cc engine and a kerb weight of around 800 kg, it is generally regarded as the most rewarding of the Spitfires to drive.
This 1979 car has been restored by a specialist and tuned beyond standard: the engine is Stage 3, with an unleaded cylinder head, a sports exhaust and manifold. Other changes include electronic ignition, an electric cooling fan, adjustable Spax dampers and a high-torque starter. Inside are a leather interior, a walnut dash and a mohair hood.
The dealer says a comprehensive history file of invoices comes with the car. It is sold inspected and serviced, with a 12-month warranty. Mileage, registration and colour are not given on the page.
