The Triumph Super 7 was the company's answer to the Austin 7, and this one carries a fabric-covered faux cabriolet body by Hoyal of Weybridge. It is believed to be the only surviving Super 7 with that coachwork, which makes it a rarity even among small pre-war Triumphs.
The car has been restored from the ground up, mechanically and cosmetically. The body has a new ash frame replicating the original, covered in green rexine-style fabric, with brown leather trim and green carpets inside. Details include a Hoyal plaque on the dash, a supplying-dealer plate from Reeve & Stedeford of Birmingham, a roof smokers' hatch, a fold-open windscreen and a two-person dickey seat. It sits on refinished wire wheels with five new tyres, the spare carried at the rear.
Power comes from the 832 cc side-valve four, with a three-bearing crankshaft, which has been fully rebuilt. The gearbox is a three-speed manual and the brakes are Lockheed hydraulic drums. It is UK-registered as VP4380. No mileage is stated.
