Chassis 1606 is a 1911 Silver Ghost, ordered new for Australian use as a 'long 1911' chassis with C-rake steering, extra springing, brass fittings and Rudge Whitworth detachable wire wheels. It was originally owned by Samuel Gibson of the Melbourne department store Foy & Gibson, and returned to Derby in 1913, when it was issued the CH-722 registration it still carries.
The car has had a long and well-documented life. It was rebodied in the 1970s as a Brougham Landaulette, then restored from 1988 under Keith Wherry. Australian coachbuilder Peter Lamb built the current open touring body, a Barker Marlborough Torpedo-style design, to return the car to its original configuration. It won the 20-Ghost Club Concours and Best in Show at the RREC Annual Rally in 1993, and appeared at Pebble Beach in 1995.
The present owner has had it since 2008. It has taken part in all the major 20-Ghost Club tours since 2010, including three Alpine Tours, the most recent in 2023. The dealer's page gives no odometer reading.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Rolls-Royce 40/50 hp chassis spec (7,428 cc side-valve straight-six, Derby-built); RR quoted only the 40/50 RAC/tax rating, not bhp, and tourer bodies were coachbuilt, so no factory power, weight or performance figures are given).
£590,000 since it was listed on 6 November 2026. No changes yet.
