Listed today at Jonathan Wood, Saffron Walden. Last checked today.
This 1914 Silver Ghost is specified for pre-war touring. It has the four-speed gearbox, the larger concentric-type rear brakes and the 22-inch radiator, which gives it the tall, sporting stance of the Alpine Trial cars. The page describes it as matching numbers.
Chassis 50YB was on test at Derby in May 1914 and was sold through Pickford, Trown and Co of Sheffield. It reached Carlos Menendez in Buenos Aires in 1916, wearing a Barker landaulette body. It stayed in Argentina until 1969, then returned to the UK, where it was restored. Michael Banfield owned it from 1974 to 2014.
The current owner bought it in 2014 and had Clanfield Coachworks build a Holmes of Derby tourer body, working from drawings of another car. Carl J Ford carried out a comprehensive mechanical refurbishment, and a supplementary fuel tank was added to extend the touring range. The original Barker body is retained with the car. It is finished in battleship grey, as many of the original trials cars were, and has brass fittings.
