Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost Landaulette

Chassis 2644 is an Edwardian-era Silver Ghost with the early parallel bonnet, low-mounted radiator and engine, firewall-mounted instruments and wooden artillery wheels. It carries its original seven-seater Barker landaulette coachwork and is presented unrestored, with its original patina intact.

Ordered new by Sir Thomas Jackson of Stansted House, Essex, it was built without electric lighting. A C.A.V. dynamo system was added after Barker finished the body, which left an unusual twin-battery, two-circuit electrical layout with separate ignition and lighting supplies. The car later went to Norway, where it had a second, open summer body in the 1920s. That body is long gone, and the Barker coachwork stayed on the car.

From the early 1960s it spent 45 years in a purpose-built basement garage in Oslo, on axle stands with its fluids drained. It was recommissioned in California in 2009 and shown at Pebble Beach, then won its class at the Newport Concours. It has been back in the UK since 2013. A large history file and a Rolls-Royce tool kit come with it.
