Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost Rois Des Belges Tourer

This 1913 Silver Ghost has been rebodied as a Rois des Belges tourer, a style named for the flamboyant open coachwork associated with the Silver Ghost in Edwardian Europe. The new body was built by Silver Ghost specialist James Black in Northern Ireland. It is finished in pale cream with vertical stripes in a darker cream, over raw aluminium for the bonnet and bulkhead.

The engine has been fully rebuilt. It was sourced to replace the car's original unit, which was swapped many decades ago and now sits in 1913 Silver Ghost chassis 2371. The four-speed gearbox has also been rebuilt. The car has the larger twin-shoe drum brakes, and the dealer describes very light steering. The owner set it up for long-distance touring rather than originality.

Trim is new tan hide with a beige canvas hood and matching hood bag. It runs on wooden artillery wheels with detachable rims and new tyres, and has a re-cored low brass radiator and brass lamps. About 1,000 shakedown miles have been covered since the body was fitted. It is UK registered as ES1392, chassis 37MA.
