This 1964 MG Midget began life as a 1098cc Ashley-bodied historic racer built to FIA specification. The FIA/HTP papers lapsed in 2017, but it has a competition history that includes the Spa and Brands Hatch-style six-hour events, and it was reportedly driven at one stage by Tony Jardine. It is registered with a V5 logbook.
The current owner bought it in January 2024 with a Sebring forward-hinging front end and an Ashley fastback hard top already fitted. This year it received a new 1380cc full-race engine with a 45 DCOE Weber carburettor and a straight-cut close-ratio gearbox, both only two races old. Suspension has new lowered rear springs, adjustable AVO dampers, 600lb front springs and a Panhard rod kit, and the front brakes are Wilwood four-pots.
Safety and driver equipment includes a bolt-in roll cage, a Tillett composite seat and a plumbed-in fire extinguisher serviced in September 2023. It is eligible for series such as the CSCC Swinging Sixties and the Lackford Engineering Midget championship. The price is open to offers, and an Ifor Williams trailer is available separately for £1,995.
