The MGC took the MGB shell and fitted it with a 2.9-litre straight-six, built from 1967 to 1969. Body changes were limited to a bonnet bulge for the relocated radiator and a teardrop fairing for carburettor clearance, while the car also had its own brakes, 15-inch wheels, a lower-geared rack and pinion, and torsion bar front suspension.
This roadster is a home-market car first registered in April 1968 and supplied new by University Motors of London. It is finished in Tartan Red with black leather, and the factory options were wire wheels, overdrive, a heater, a pack-away hood and a tonneau cover.
The current owner bought it in 1980 and had it restored. The engine and gearbox were removed, the shell was stripped and resprayed in bare metal, and the engine, gearbox, differential, suspension and brakes were overhauled. Re-chroming, new interior trim and carpets, a new mohair hood and rewiring were also done. A history file contains the current V5 and numerous invoices.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (BMC published engine figures (2912cc C-Series straight-six, 145 bhp gross). Weight, top speed and 0-60 left null because the commonly quoted figures come from period road tests, not the manufacturer.).
