Listed today at Graeme Hunt, Battersea. Last checked today.
The MGC was MG's attempt at a more muscular B, with a 2.9-litre straight-six under a bonnet bulge. This roadster is one of the 1,403 UK-supplied cars, first delivered to University Motors in London on 17 April 1968 with wire wheels, overdrive, heater and a packaway hood. It was originally Minerva Blue and has since been repainted red.
The engine has been uprated with triple double-choke Weber carburettors, a high-lift camshaft, a free-flow manifold and a stainless exhaust, and the page says the Downton conversion is evidenced. The cylinder heads were converted for unleaded petrol in 2000, and an engine rebuild was carried out in 1988. The gearbox is a four-speed manual with overdrive. The car shows 56,000 miles.
Ownership history is given as three owners over the last 38 years, including spells in Germany and Northern Ireland. The file includes old MoT certificates, invoices and the original Irish log book, and a Heritage certificate is listed. New wire wheels, tyres, hood, tonneau and hood bag have been fitted, the interior is black leather with red piping, and the dealer reports a fresh MoT with no failures or advisories.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (BMC published engine figures (2912cc C-Series straight-six, 145 bhp gross). Weight, top speed and 0-60 left null because the commonly quoted figures come from period road tests, not the manufacturer.).
£24,750 since it was listed on 5 November 2026. No changes yet.
