The M-Type was the original small MG, and this 1931 example is a pre-war car that has been refreshed for regular use. A 580-hour body restoration was completed in 2021, changing the finish from its long-term brown with cream arches to Light Blue fabric with Old English White arches.
The chassis was taken back to bare metal and blasted before reassembly, and the overhead-cam engine was fully rebuilt in 2002. It is paired with a four-speed manual 'crash' gearbox, described as tight and positive.
The history file is small but includes the rare original factory handbook and invoices for the engine overhaul, carried out while the car was in the Netherlands. There it was active with the Bilthoven Classic Club and appeared on the cover of the club's flyer.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Only engine layout given (847cc overhead-cam four from the Morris Minor, front-engined, RWD, built at Abingdon). Period sources disagree on power (20 vs 27 bhp after the 1930–31 update), weight and top speed, so those are null.).
