The 190 SL was the more approachable sibling of the 300 SL Gullwing, sharing its styling cues and suspension layout but using a 1.9-litre four-cylinder with twin Solex carburettors and a four-speed manual gearbox. This 1958 left-hand-drive example has had a full body-off restoration by a UK Mercedes specialist, with panels replaced where needed and sub-assemblies stripped and rebuilt.
It is finished in Anthracite Grey Metallic (DB172) over red leather, with a mid-red mohair hood. The engine is described as numbers matching, and the car keeps its Solex PH44 carburettors. The dealer states about 600 miles have been covered since the restoration.
The car is still being prepared for sale, and the price is on application. Viewing is by appointment near Stansted.
