This 3500GT Spyder is one of the rarest versions of Maserati's first volume-production road car. Chassis AM101 2757 was completed in August 1963 and is described as the second-to-last factory right-hand-drive Spyder, one of only five built to that specification. As a late car it has the five-speed gearbox and four-wheel disc brakes, and it sits on Borrani wire wheels. The Michelotti-designed Vignale body is paired with a twin-cam straight-six.
Its history is well documented. It was delivered to Maserati Concession Ltd at Holland Park, London, in August 1963 and first registered 540 MLW. Collector Tom Walduck owned it from 1986 for around 17 years, and Mark Morris kept it for 21 years from 2003, servicing it with McGrath Maserati. A restoration in 2018/19 cost about £175,000 and covered the body, hood, interior and a rebuild of the engine, gearbox and suspension. The car was then finished in Blu Scurro.
The current owner bought it in 2024 and spent about a further £75,000 returning it to its original Amaranto Roma metallic and bringing it to concours standard. It is billed as an entrant at the Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace in September 2026. The MZ 43 plate on the car is not included in the sale. No mileage is given on the page.
