£5,000 below the median asking price
Compared with 3 other Lotus Elan Sprint DHC for sale on Vertar (1971 to 1972). Median £44,995.
The Elan Sprint was the last and quickest of the original Lotus Elan line, and this 1972 drophead is finished in the Gold Leaf Team Lotus colours that suit the car so well.
It has a Lotus galvanised chassis-up rebuild, carried out before the selling dealer first sold it. The dealer has looked after it for the same owner, a helicopter pilot, for the 14 years since. A new Everflex soft-top has been fitted and has seen little use.
The dealer describes it as driving as a well set up Sprint should. Mileage and registration aren't given on the page.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Lotus published figures for the 1558cc Big Valve Twin Cam (126 bhp gross). Weight, top speed and 0-60 left null because the commonly quoted values come from period road tests, not Lotus.).
£39,995 since it was listed on 6 November 2026. No changes yet.
