£5,000 above the median asking price
Compared with 3 other Lotus Elan Sprint DHC for sale on Vertar (1971 to 1972). Median £39,995.
The Elan Sprint was the last and fastest of the original Lotus roadsters, and this 1972 drophead is finished in Lotus Yellow over Cirrus White. It has a well-documented ownership story: the selling dealer first sold it in 1984, and it has since passed through only a few hands, including a long spell with a Lotus historian.
That last owner commissioned a full repaint costing nearly £20,000. A new mohair hood and tonneau have just been fitted, tailored around the detachable roll hoop, and the car has an aluminium fuel tank.
The car shows about 65,000 miles and comes with extensive history going back to 1984. Delivery is available worldwide.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Lotus published figures for the 1558cc Big Valve Twin Cam (126 bhp gross). Weight, top speed and 0-60 left null because the commonly quoted values come from period road tests, not Lotus.).
£44,995 since it was listed on 6 November 2026. No changes yet.
