The supercharged low-chassis 2-Litre is the sporting end of Lagonda's pre-war range. The low chassis arrived for 1929 after the factory's Le Mans effort of 1928, and the blown version followed in 1930 with a vertically mounted supercharger, a stronger crankshaft and a 3-Litre rear axle. This car has the 1931 updates: a deeper radiator and the newer T3 tourer coachwork, with the spare wheel on the off-side front wing and a boot with a drop-down lid.
Chassis OH9764 was supplied through Dobson Bridge Garage in Staines and first registered in September 1931, although the chassis number dates from 1930. It may have been the dealer's demonstrator. Its recorded owners run from Captain G Barlow through to Dr W Bardsley of Great Malvern, who kept it from 1960 until 2005, when it was found at his home and bought by the previous owner.
That owner had it rebuilt over eight years. The current keeper bought it at a Bonhams Beaulieu sale about ten years ago and has used it lightly and regularly since. It comes with its 1956 buff logbook, restoration invoices, a V5C and a set of unused side screens. The listing is marked as accepted, so an offer appears to have been agreed.
