Jaguar XK140 MC Drophead Coupe

This 1957 XK140 is a left-hand-drive drophead coupe in MC specification, meaning it has the optional C-type cylinder head. The "S" prefix on its chassis number, S818981, marks it as an SE (Special Equipment) car, and it is described as a matching-numbers example first supplied new to the USA.

It has spent many years in a prominent Portuguese collection, where it was driven about 20km a month and looked after by the collection's mechanic. It was restored some years ago, and the dealer reports a rust-free body. The burgundy paint is older than the restoration but presents well. Inside are brown seats and carpets and an original burr walnut dashboard. The off-white canvas hood folds down after three catches are released.
