The XK120 was the car that put Jaguar on the world stage, and the fixed-head coupe adds a more civilised, wood-trimmed cabin to the roadster's pace. This 1953 example was supplied new to the USA in March 1953 and returned to the UK in 1998.
It is finished in British Racing Green over tan leather, the colours listed on its Jaguar Heritage sheet. The repatriation work included a full rewire, a bare-metal respray, and new leather and brown carpets. The paint is described as lightly patinated, and the interior retains its original crackle-varnished woodwork. The driver's seatback has been reshaped to suit a taller driver of 6ft 3in.
The engine bay is largely original, with bills showing rebuilds as needed. The engine was fully rebuilt while the car was in Switzerland, where the brakes, clutch and hydraulics were also redone. It sits on original pressed steel wheels with rear spats, and the recorded mileage is 95,000. It is registered in both Switzerland and the UK, with taxes paid in both, and is currently viewable in Switzerland. The page marks the price as accepted.
