The XK120 Drophead Coupe arrived late in the model's run, adding a folding hood, winding windows and a wooden dashboard to the original roadster's formula. Only 294 right-hand-drive examples were built for the home market, and this one is the 158th made.
The Heritage Certificate and original log-book show it left Browns Lane in December 1953 and was first registered in Northern Ireland in January 1954, before being re-registered in the UK in 1964. Engine, gearbox, body and chassis numbers are all original and matching.
A complete body-off restoration followed its purchase by the current vendor's late father in 1994, completed over about three years. It is finished in British Racing Green with green leather, and has a Kenlowe fan added. The history file holds service records and invoices since the restoration, and the car has been recently serviced by a Jaguar specialist.
