Jaguar E-Type Series III V12 Roadster

This 1972 E-Type Series III is a matching-numbers, UK home-market car with the four-speed manual gearbox, built on 4 October 1972 and supplied new through Auto Centre. It is finished in its original Primrose over black trim, a lighter and more period-correct colour than many V12 roadsters wear today.

After 42 years in Britain it was exported to Modena, where it had a substantial mechanical recommissioning, including rebuilt cylinder heads. A photo record and a file of invoices document that work, and the car is described as very original.

Back in the UK it was taken to a bare shell. The sills and floor were replaced, the front spaceframe renewed, and the tub repainted in the original colour. The mechanical work included a new fuel pipe kit, wiring loom, clutch, hoses, hydraulic cylinders, ball joints and bushes. Black leather seats and a black mohair hood complete the car. Steel wheels with early V12 hub caps and a raised-digit rear plate keep it period. No mileage is stated.
