This 1971 E-Type V12 Roadster was comprehensively rebuilt around 1990 by English Cars of Distinction in Coventry, a Jaguar specialist known for E-Type restoration and re-engineering. The work reportedly cost £55,000 at the time and started with a new roadster bodyshell from RS Panels, so the car was close to new when it was finished.
The rebuild covered the 5.3-litre V12, a four-speed manual gearbox, steering, suspension, brakes, a full rewire, new chrome and new chrome wire wheels. It was specified in Gunmetal with red leather, and the page says it has covered about 16,000 miles since completion.
Later work includes a new steering rack, rebuilt carburettors, replacement exhaust manifolds and exhaust system, a new mohair hood and a new windscreen. A file of invoices supports the history, and the dealer reports £3,000 spent on preparation before sale. The bodyshell is described as free of corrosion, with good panel gaps and floor pans.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Jaguar 1971 launch figures: 5.3-litre V12 rated 272 bhp gross (SAE). Weight, top speed and 0-60 figures widely quoted come from magazine road tests, not Jaguar, so they are left null.).
