This 1963 E-Type is an early Series 1 3.8 fixed-head coupe with the four-speed Moss manual gearbox. It is the ninth from last car built with the aluminium dash, and it is finished in its original Opalescent Gunmetal over red leather, as dispatched on 5 September 1963.
The car has an unusual start in life. Jaguar itself was the first owner, registering it in Coventry as '2507 KV' and using it as a press car; it appeared 'on test' in Belgium in an August 1964 issue of Autosport Weekly. A Jaguar Heritage Certificate confirms it remains a matching-numbers car.
It was restored in the late 1990s, with the invoices and photographic records kept in the history file. From 2010 it had one family owner until his death in 2017, after which his children kept it. The dealer has since recommissioned it, rebuilding and tuning the carburettors, renewing the fuel lines, hoses and coolant components, refurbishing the steering rack and radiator, servicing it and fitting new seat belts. MOT history and ownership documents are included.
