YRP 999 is the 20th right-hand-drive E-type roadster built and is regarded as one of the most raced E-types in existence. It was collected new in July 1961 by Derek Wilkinson, and its competition career began that same year in the Autosport 2000 series. Later owners, including John Woolfe, moved it towards semi-lightweight specification with an aluminium panelling, a Le Mans-style fuel tank and a D-type tachometer.
The car has raced at 11 Goodwood Revival TTs, most recently in 2025 with IndyCar champion Scott Dixon driving. Past drivers include Jackie Oliver, Anthony Reid, John Cleland and Jean-Eric Vergne. After a long restoration completed by Lynx Motors, the body was returned to its original Opalescent Dark Green.
Pursuit Racing has recently stripped and rebuilt it in a programme of work costing £80,000. That included a new differential, a gearbox refresh, a new wiring loom, new gauges, a bag tank, a straight-through exhaust and a retrimmed interior. It runs a race-spec 3.8-litre aluminium-block engine built by Init Racing and weighs 1,056kg. A cast-iron-block 3.8 engine, a spare bonnet, a spare differential and the history file come with it. The page gives FIA papers as valid until December 2025. The price is on application, and no mileage is stated.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Jaguar never published a catalogue model called 'Semi-Lightweight'. These were one-off competition conversions of Series 1 3.8 cars, so there are no factory figures for performance or weight. Only the base 3.8 XK engine and layout are given.).
