Listed today at Hilton & Moss, Bishop's Stortford. Last checked today.
This is an early Series 1 E-Type with the 3.8-litre straight-six, in open two-seater (OTS) form. It was first delivered to Jaguar Cars in New York in July 1962. It left the factory in Opalescent Silver Blue with a black leather interior, and is now in an older British Racing Green respray.
It is sold as a restoration project, and the sale is tied to a restoration contract with the dealer's in-house workshop. The car spent much of its life in dry California and is described as very rust free, with little major work in six decades. All removed parts are documented and stored. It is said to be fully matching numbers, covering chassis, body, engine block and gearbox. Unusually, the original cylinder head is also present.
The finish is open to the buyer, from a concours-level rebuild to a personal specification of paint, leather, hood and mechanical upgrades. Price is on application and the odometer reading is not given.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Jaguar factory figures for the Series 1 3.8 (265 bhp is a gross rating); weight and 0-60 omitted because the widely quoted values are road-test results, not manufacturer data.).
