Jaguar E-Type Lindner-Nöcker Low Drag Lightweight By Lynx

This is a Lynx-built recreation of the Lindner-Nöcker Low Drag E-Type Lightweight, the racing special that followed Malcolm Sayer's aerodynamic thinking. It is built on a new steel monocoque with updated chassis frames, and the bonnet, doors, boot lid, rear wings and roof are hand-welded 16-gauge aluminium, riveted externally as on the original. The Lynx-built 3.8-litre engine is reported to use the original matching-numbers block, period wide-angle heads and a lightweight crank, with dry sump lubrication and triple Weber carburettors. Output is quoted at 320 bhp at 5,800 rpm.

The specification is track-minded: fully adjustable suspension, large multi-pot brakes, an FIA-approved fuel cell, a roll cage, bucket seats, four-point harnesses and a Moto-Lita wheel. The car is finished in silver with a black Connolly hide interior and is right-hand drive.

A mechanical restoration was carried out in 2008, when the engine was rebuilt to race specification and the rear axle and suspension were overhauled. Invoices from Crosthwaite & Gardiner and CKL are on file, and the car was previously FIA FT3 and MSA HTP registered. No price or mileage is stated.
