This is an early flat-floor E-Type fixed-head coupe, chassis 885096, the 96th left-hand-drive coupe built. It was delivered new to Florida and spent a year as a road car with its first owner, William Blood, before privateer Richard Robson of Titusville bought it and rebuilt it to FIA GT specification.
Robson raced it from 1965 to 1969 with co-drivers Rajah Rodgers and William Buchman. The record shows three Daytona 24 Hours (1967, 1968 and 1969) and four Sebring 12 Hours (1965 to 1968), including a class win at Sebring. After its last Daytona run in 1969 it stayed in Robson's garage for 37 years, still wearing its final race number and with its period racing equipment.
A comprehensive restoration and race preparation took place in 2019-20. The car appeared at the 2020 Amelia Island Concours and has since run at the Goodwood Revival and the 2022 Mugello Classic. It is described as semi-lightweight, with an alloy block, bonnet, doors and boot-lid, and it carries current FIA HTP papers. It wears a period green livery. The price is on application.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car ('FIA Competition' isn't a recognised Jaguar factory variant for 1961; only the shared 3.8 Series 1 basics (3781cc straight-six, front-engined, RWD) are given, and no performance figures can be confirmed.).
