'86 PJ' is the fourth of only twelve factory Lightweight E-types built, and the first delivered to the UK after John Coombs' prototype. It was supplied new in 1963 to Tommy Atkins, and Roy Salvadori raced it that season. He qualified first and finished third at the Goodwood Sussex Trophy, then took a second at the Silverstone International Trophy and further podiums at Mallory Park and the Goodwood Tourist Trophy. Roger Mac won several races in it in 1964.
Its main claim is originality. Despite its racing career, the car is recorded as having covered only about 2,600 miles in competition, and it never had a roll cage fitted. Eagle carried out a preservation-led job in 2004 rather than a full restoration. The original leather interior was cleaned and left in place, and the car was returned to the light metallic green found under later paint. Penny Griffiths, daughter of the photographer Guy Griffiths, used it for sprints and hill-climbs, and the family kept it for about four decades.
A CKL Developments report describes it as authentic and unmolested, with well-documented provenance. DK Engineering sold it to its current owner in 2020. It has since been shown at Heveningham and won the Schedoni Award for Best Preserved Interior at the 2025 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. The car is right-hand drive with a manual gearbox. Price is on application and no odometer reading is given.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Jaguar Heritage records for the 1963 works competition Lightweight (3.8-litre aluminium-block XK six, 12 of a planned 18 built). These were factory race cars and no catalogue performance or weight figures were published, so those are left null.).
