Listed today at Vintage & Prestige, Northampton. Last checked today.
This is a very late Series II E-Type open two-seater from 1970, with the 4.2-litre twin-cam straight-six and triple carburettors. It has the optional pressed chrome wheels that were later fitted to the V12 cars, which is an unusual feature on a car of this age.
The car was restored over three years some time ago. The work covered bodywork and paint, a full retrim, a new hood and a full mechanical overhaul. It has new black leather, carpets and door cards, and a new black mohair hood. The paint is Signal Red, described as the car's original colour. The page says it is a matching-numbers and matching-colours car.
It comes with a large history file with invoices from 1981, MoT certificates from 1975 and a Jaguar Heritage certificate. The dealer says very little use since restoration, as the car is part of a 50-car collection. No mileage figure is given. The page shows the price as accepted, so a sale appears to be agreed.
