An early Series 1 E-type 3.8 open two-seater, and the 320th right-hand-drive roadster built. It is a flat-floor car, completed at the factory in December 1961 but not despatched until March 1962. It was first sold through Rimmer of Chorley and has kept its original registration, 494 YTB.
Originally Imperial Maroon over tan, it was refinished in Opalescent Silver during a ground-up rebuild by Mill Lane Engineering between 1989 and 1992. The rebuild took some 1,600 hours, and the page puts its cost at an equivalent of about £160,000 today. It has a four-speed Moss gearbox.
The history file includes the Buff logbook, factory information sheet, MoT certificates and the full set of restoration invoices. A 1984 assessor's report recorded just over 14,000 miles, though the page says that figure can't be verified. The odometer now reads 57,800 miles, and the car is described as having seen sparing use in recent years.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Jaguar factory figures from the 1961 launch (265 bhp gross, 150 mph claim); 0-60 and kerb weight left null because the period figures come from magazine road tests rather than Jaguar.).
£124,995 since it was listed on 6 November 2026. No changes yet.
