This is an early Series 1 E-Type Open Two Seater, built in August 1961 and so fitted with the flat floor that collectors prize on the first cars. It has the 3.8-litre engine and four-speed manual gearbox, with an aluminium dashboard, biscuit leather and a sand hood. A factory-style removable hardtop has been added, and a fitted luggage set was made for it.
Chassis 875443 was delivered new to Jaguar Cars of New York and stayed in the United States until 2015. The history file covers Californian ownership from 1968 and invoices dating back to 1975. A JDHT certificate confirms the factory specification, and the engine block and head carry matching numbers, though the engine and gearbox are believed to have been replaced under warranty early in the car's life.
After import it was returned to its original Opalescent Dark Green by Butlin & Sons, in a restoration costing £45,000. A further £28,000 has been spent on upgrades and maintenance since 2021, including restoration of the hardtop by CMC of Bridgnorth. The page lists one previous owner in the UK, an HPI-clear record and a three-month warranty.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Jaguar factory figures from the 1961 launch (265 bhp gross, 150 mph claim); 0-60 and kerb weight left null because the period figures come from magazine road tests rather than Jaguar.).
£184,995 since it was listed on 5 November 2026. No changes yet.
