Jaguar C-Type Recreation

This is a Jaguar C-Type recreation built in 2007 by XK Engineering of Coventry on one of the original Proteus/Enduro aluminium "Superform" bodies. It was supplied new through Legends Automotive. It is the developed, toolroom-standard end of the Enduro production run, not a kit-built replica.

The car is finished in Ecurie Ecosse Blue with a black leather and insulated Hardura interior by GB Trim of Coventry. Power comes from a 4.2-litre Jaguar straight-six built by VSE Engineering, with three twin-choke Weber carburettors and a Getrag five-speed manual gearbox. The suspension is fully adjustable, with vented front discs and four-pot calipers, and solid rear discs with two-pot calipers.

It has just returned from Mirabel Engineering after a major mechanical refresh. The engine had a top and bottom-end overhaul with new bearings, a crankshaft balance and fresh valves. The flywheel was machined and balanced, and the car has a new clutch and new engine mounts. The prop shaft and drive shafts were rebuilt and balanced. The history file holds invoices from XK Engineering, Wren Classics and Milford Vintage Engineering, photographs of the original build and the factory sales brochure. Price and mileage are not stated.
