This is a Proteus-built recreation of the Jaguar C-Type, the 1951 Le Mans winner. It comes from the newer run of Proteus cars begun in 2011. The page gives both 2012 and 2022 as years, so the build date is unclear. It is a left-hand-drive car, which is unusual, and it is UK registered with a valid V5 and the cherished plate RPV9. European taxes are also paid.
The car uses a tubular Proteus chassis with an all-aluminium body, including the doors, bonnet and boot. Power comes from a 4.2-litre twin-cam straight-six with Lynx fuel injection, electronic ignition and a free-flowing exhaust. It is quoted at 265 bhp and drives through a five-speed gearbox with a limited-slip differential. An ECU allows remapping for road or track use.
Recent work includes a new oil cooler and alternator, D-type style breather pipes and catch tank, and Wilwood calipers with racing pads. The car is finished in British Racing Green with green leather bucket seats. It has knock-off wire wheels, a wrap-around Perspex screen, a Moto-Lita steering wheel and a rear-mounted spare. A pair of period helmets and goggles is included. The car is in a Brussels collection.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (A Proteus C-Type is a replica built by Proteus (UK), not a Jaguar factory car. No Jaguar factory figures exist, and engine and spec vary from build to build (Jaguar XK straight-six), so performance figures are left blank.).
£175,000 since it was listed on 6 November 2026. No changes yet.
