Listed today at Taylor & Crawley, London.
The Chevron B26 was built for the 1973 Group 6 two-litre sports car championship and the Springbok series in southern Africa. This is chassis 002, finished in orange, with a works-level competition history.
In period it was driven by John Watson and Ian Schekter to victory in the 1973 Cape Town 500km at Killarney. For 1974 it ran as one of two Chevron works entries, with drivers including John Lepp, Peter Gethin, Vern Schuppan and Watson.
It later passed to Bob Marsland for Interseries and international sports car racing, then competed in Thundersports in the 1980s. It went to Murray Smith in America in the early 2000s and returned to the UK in 2011, when it raced in the Silverstone CER event. Chevron specialist Martin O'Connell has since rebuilt it.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Chevron Cars (Bolton) 2-litre Group 5 sports-racing prototype; customer-fitted engines varied (BMW, Hart, Cosworth FVC), so no single factory power/weight/performance figures can be confirmed.).
