The DB6 was the last of the David Brown-era six-cylinder Aston Martin grand tourers, with a longer wheelbase, higher roof and Kamm tail that gave rear passengers more room than the DB5. This 1969 saloon was supplied new through a Kent dealer in August 1969, originally in Pacific Blue with blue hide, power steering and automatic transmission. It is now finished in Caribbean Blue metallic with a cream hide interior.
It has just had a two-year restoration covering the bodywork, chassis, interior and mechanicals. The engine has been rebuilt to 4.2-litre specification, which included a replacement block. A Tremec five-speed manual gearbox has replaced the original automatic, giving more relaxed cruising at modern speeds.
The car comes with a large history file. It holds more than 40 years of invoices and documentation, along with records of the restoration work.
