Aston Martin DB6 Mk 2 Vantage

This 1970 DB6 Mk 2 is one of the last of the line: only 244 Mk 2 saloons were built, and just 46 of those were fuel-injected cars. This one is an ex-FI car running three Weber carburettors to Vantage specification, which the factory put at a reputed 325 bhp against 285 bhp for the standard car. It has the five-speed manual gearbox and is described as matching numbers.

It was supplied new in February 1970 by Wharf Garages of Melton Mowbray and still wears its original Verde Acqua metallic paint with a Tan Connolly Vaumol hide interior, a combination used on motor show cars. The Mk 2 brought flared arches, wider wheels, DBS-style seats and larger disc brakes.

The dealer commissioned a mechanical overhaul by marque specialists Pugsley & Lewis costing £42,000, plus a full interior re-trim at Moto-Trim for over £10,000, using correct hides and Wilton carpet. The history file holds the original BMIHT build certificate, restoration photographs, handbook, tool roll, a brochure and a period road test. It shows 74,800 miles and is listed as coming soon.
