The DB6 was the last of the David Brown-era DB line and the first designed primarily as a grand tourer rather than a sports car. It brought a longer wheelbase, more rear-seat room and the Kamm-style tail that improved high-speed stability over the DB5. This Mk1 has the manual gearbox and the 4.0-litre straight-six, a combination many enthusiasts prefer for its directness.
This 1968 car is finished in Black Pearl Metallic over a light grey interior. It has been through a full restoration by an Aston Martin specialist, with the body taken back to bare metal and refinished, and the cabin completely retrimmed by hand. The odometer reads 48,000 miles.
The car was first registered on 5 August 1968, and the dealer says a history file traces its life back to 1969. The chassis number is DB663448R.
