Aston Martin DB6 Vantage

This is a right-hand-drive DB6 Vantage with matching engine and chassis numbers, supplied new in the UK in April 1967 and exported to Germany in 2007. The factory build sheet is present and confirms Vantage engine, manual gearbox and heated rear screen, with chrome wire wheels and a power aerial. The ZF five-speed manual and twin Weber carburettors are part of the specification.

It left the factory in Silver Birch with red Connolly leather. It has since been repainted Dubonnet Rosso and retrimmed in black leather, a change the dealer declares. The odometer reads 2,054 miles.

The history file runs across several decades. Goldsmith & Young rebuilt the engine in 2004, with new Cosworth pistons in 4.2-litre specification, a cylinder head repair and unleaded conversion. German specialist Preisacher recommissioned the car in 2017, with fluid services, a new alternator and battery, and renewed brake hoses. It also has new Dayton wire wheels and Pirelli tyres, and a new windscreen was fitted for MOT purposes.
