This 1962 DB4 Series 4 is far from standard. It was bought through JD Classics and then restored in full to the brief of an owner who wanted it done his way. The Series 4 was built between September 1961 and October 2962's end-of-run period, and sits just before the Series 5 that led to the DB5.
The biggest change is under the bonnet. Aston Engineering enlarged the engine to 4.2 litres, set up to run on unleaded and fitted with triple Weber carburettors. The suspension and brakes were upgraded, and the car now has wider wheels and tyres with Borrani wheel spinners. The rear arches were flared slightly to clear the tyres, and a modified limited-slip axle was fitted.
Inside, the light tan trim includes air conditioning, a discreet music system, colour-coded retractable seat belts and electric power steering with a slightly smaller leather wheel. The car is right-hand drive, in grey, and shows 23,935 miles. The dealer describes it as in concours condition. The price is on application.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Aston Martin's claimed 240 bhp gross for the DB4; weight, top speed and 0-60 left null because the factory figures couldn't be confirmed).
