This 1953 Aston Martin DB2, chassis LML/50/322, is a right-hand-drive car described as a Vantage-specification example, the early performance tune that gave the later Vantage name its start. It was delivered new in Deep Carr Green with a beige interior and registered VDV 418 in April 1953. It is now finished in burgundy and shows 30,500 miles.
Its history is unusually well documented. The engine was substantially rebuilt in 1965, and the late Jens Pilo owned the car for about 35 years and used it for historic rallying. In 2001 it completed the Classic Marathon Rally, roughly 3,000 miles from Belgium to Croatia, and in 2003 A. Archer of Great Dunmow carried out a comprehensive mechanical rebuild.
The page lists three previous keepers and a substantial history file. It is described as Mille Miglia eligible, though the dealer notes this should be confirmed with the organisers. Factory records do not currently list the engine number. The price is on application.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Aston Martin period factory figures (125 bhp, 2.6-litre Lagonda/W.O. Bentley twin-cam six with higher compression); weight, 0-60 and top speed left null because no published factory figure is confirmed).
