This is a 1953 Aston Martin DB2 Vantage offered as a restoration project. It is a rare factory left-hand-drive car, and it keeps its original VB6B big-valve Vantage engine and its original gearbox. That combination is unusual on a car of this age. The dealer says it is the first original left-hand-drive big-valve DB2 they have handled in nearly 40 years of brokering.
The car spent its early life in Mexico City. Its first owner, Gilles Legorreta, raced it until 1962, and period photographs show it with a DB3-style 'potato masher' grille. The original Aston Martin build sheet, Mexican import papers and de-registration document are on file. The engine was dismantled during a long period of ownership. The car later passed through the US and was imported to Europe in 2015, and it is now stored in mainland Europe.
It was originally black with a beige leather interior, and the correct grille has since been acquired. It is unrestored and has no stated mileage, registration or MOT history. It is described as Mille Miglia eligible once restored.
