This AC Aceca is one of 169 built with the Bristol six-cylinder engine and one of only 89 right-hand-drive home-market cars. It left the Thames Ditton factory in October 1958 with disc brakes and overdrive, and was first registered UBR 135. The car is matching numbers, and factory records show it was supplied new through KN Rudd.
Its history is unusually well documented. One owner kept it for 41 years from 1966, and a file of period invoices from AC Cars and Bristol service departments comes with it. It then spent decades off the road before a full rebuild, completed around 2008. The Bristol engine was rebuilt by Stanton Motorsport with Cosworth pistons and a fast-road cam, giving 140 bhp at 5,500 rpm.
Later owners toured Spain and France extensively, and the page records about £17,000 of maintenance between 2011 and 2015. Further work followed, including refurbished wheels and uprated rear springs. It is finished in Black Pearl with a beige interior and has a four-speed gearbox with overdrive. The dealer reports almost 11,000 miles since the rebuild, and the car has had six owners from new by 2018, plus later keepers.
