AC Aceca

The Aceca is the closed coupe version of John Tojeiro's AC Ace, with an aluminium body and independent suspension that was advanced for a British sports car of its day. This 1960 example is in its original colour of Blue and shows 29,250 miles, a figure the dealer says is supported by paperwork warranted from 1978 to 2021.

Its history is unusually well documented. It was first registered on 10 November 1960 to AC Cars at Thames Ditton and sold new in Braintree, Essex. A copy of the original buff logbook and 1970s service invoices from Thames Ditton are on file. Later owners included a company in Stansted, from 1984 for 17 years, and a private owner in Oldham.

A previous collector owner commissioned a light restoration, including a full repaint and retrim. The original engine needed work, so a more powerful six-cylinder TR engine was fitted. In 2021 a further £4,000 went on a full service, new Blockley tyres and recommissioned brakes with new rear shoes, wheel cylinders and cup seals.
