The CRS, short for Carbon Road Series, is one of the rarer factory-built Cobras. This is a genuine AC-built car, completed at Brooklands in 2000 and one of only 37 made. It keeps the tubular chassis and Ford V8 layout of the Mk IV, but swaps the aluminium body for a one-piece pre-preg carbon-fibre shell cured in an autoclave.
This example has a Ford fuel-injected 5.0-litre V8 with a five-speed manual gearbox and a Hydratrak limited-slip differential. Standard CRS output was 225 bhp. It is finished in dark green with a matching green leather interior, chrome roll hoops, a suede-trimmed dashboard and Smiths instruments. It has not been converted into a 1960s competition-style replica, and it retains its bumpers, road wheels, heater and stereo.
The history file includes the original AC Car Group order paperwork, which totalled £46,568.89, the chassis instruction book and the service record. AC carried out the early servicing and specialists Thunder Road did much of the later maintenance. The MOTs and invoices show only around 10,000 miles covered between 2011 and 2023. The car is shown with 46,000 miles.
