The Vauxhall 14/40 arrived in 1921, designed by Clarence King around a 2.3-litre four-cylinder engine. The 'LM' Series of 1924 raised compression to give 40 bhp and added a four-speed gearbox and wire wheels. This is a four-seat Princeton Tourer from that series, dated 1926 on the page though sold as a 1925 car. Chassis number LM2614.
It was imported from Australia in 1999, a market where the 14/40 was popular because of its sturdy build. It was then restored over about six years, both bodily and mechanically, by a marque specialist. The car comes with a large history file documenting the work.
It is finished in green over black, with red-painted wire wheels and black leather upholstery. The Griffin mascot is original. A new set of Blockley tyres has recently been fitted, and there is an Auster rear passenger windscreen. The dealer reports that it starts readily and runs well, and that the hood goes up easily. The page shows the price as accepted, so a sale appears to be agreed.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Engine details (2297cc side-valve four, 75x130mm) from period Vauxhall specifications. No reliable published 1926 Princeton Tourer figures for power, weight or performance, so these are left null.).
