This is a 1924 Silver Ghost from the Springfield, Massachusetts, factory, bodied by Merrimac as a Piccadilly Speedster. The page says it is one of only four built to this design, carrying Merrimac body number M1045 on chassis 317LF.
Its provenance is unusually good. The first owner was the heavyweight boxing champion Jack Dempsey, who took delivery on 9 January 1924. He is said to have ordered it after his 1923 fight against Luis Angel Firpo, and the page describes it as the most valued of the six Rolls-Royces he bought. The coachwork has a flip-up rear lid that opens to a dickey seat for two.
The car is described as very original and untouched, with 61,000 miles recorded. It has been praised for its condition by the late Paul Wood of P & A Wood, who previously supplied it. A full service record from that company comes with the car, along with a complete tool kit in its leather roll. It is UK-registered as ULD1.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Chassis/engine specs per Rolls-Royce of America Springfield Silver Ghost data; RR published no power or performance figures, and the Merrimac coachbuilt body weight varied by car.).
