This 1924 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost wears its original Hooper open-drive landaulette coachwork, rather than the replacement tourer bodies that are more often seen. It was ordered new by a friend of Sir Henry Royce and sent to Hooper for the body it still carries. The dealer says it appeared several times in Downton Abbey.
As a later Silver Ghost, it has an Autovac fuel feed and four-wheel brakes. The engine has recently been rebuilt by AJ Glew with new big-end bearings and high-compression pistons. The under-trays are original, and the engine bay is described as maintained to show standard.
Inside, the rear is trimmed in Bedford cord and the front seats are in black leather. Two occasional seats fold from the bulkhead. An unusual signalling system lets rear passengers send instructions to the driver through a lit box above the mirror. The rear landaulette roof folds down after two catches are released. It is UK-registered as YK7777, chassis 98AU, and the previous owner kept it for around 23 years.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Rolls-Royce 40/50 chassis specification (7,428 cc side-valve straight-six). Rolls-Royce never published power output, and weight and performance depended on the individual Hooper coachwork, so those are null.).
£185,000 since it was listed on 5 November 2026. No changes yet.
