About this car

This 1938 Rolls-Royce 25/30 carries a four-door 'Allweather' cabriolet body by Park Ward, a style the dealer describes as possibly unique. It has rear wheel spats, quarter bumpers at the back, twin side-mounted spare wheels, a louvred bonnet and scuttle, and a dropping waistline moulding. All six wheels wear Ace wheel discs.

Chassis GGR54 has an unusually well documented story. It was ordered by an Indian buyer who never took delivery, having swapped it at Jack Barclay for a Phantom III. The first owner was Robert Rivers-Bulkeley. The second was James Miller, later Lord Provost of Edinburgh and Lord Mayor of London. From 1955 to 1974 it belonged to the motoring author Ken Ullyett. Factory records show it was originally painted light green with speckled grey leather and matching hood, so a return to that scheme is possible.

The car is described as in good, smart condition, with paint, chrome and leather all very good and the coachwork structurally sound. It has recently had a new cylinder head. It is serviced, running well and MoT tested. The history file holds photographs from new, original sales paperwork and Jack Barclay invoices. The price has been reduced from £99,500 to £75,000.
